Description

Squats up against the wall is one of the best exercises for quads. Also known as the Roman Chair, this move increases lower body strength and improves your balance. The main muscles targeted are the buttocks, calves, and quadriceps. This exercise is widely used in sports that require strong quads, such as skiing, boat racing, ice hockey, and fencing. It's also popular among bodybuilders and fitness models. When done regularly, it increases isometric strength and endurance, shapes your legs, and makes you stronger overall.

How to do it

  1. 1Stand up with your back against a wall. Keep your arms at your sides and your feet shoulder width apart.
  2. 2Slide your back down using a controlled motion. Your thighs should be parallel to the floor. Keep your abs tight. Hold this position for up to 60 seconds. If done correctly, this exercise should produce a burning sensation in the quads.
  3. 3Slowly return to the starting position. Repeat for a preset number of times.

⚠️ Common mistakes

  • Rest your hands on your thighs.
  • Arch your back and lean forward.
