We've trained you anywhere, since before that was normal

Since 2007, from Lugano. 3D animated videos, 21 languages, 5.8 million subscribers, over 50 million app downloads.

The idea

An exercise is explained better by an animated character than by a camera in a gym: you see every muscle, every angle, every rep, with nothing in the way.

The idea dates from 2006. In 2007 the company was founded in Lugano, with a website that already had an exercise library and a clickable muscle map. On 12 March 2008 the YouTube channel opened; on 22 April the first videos went out: 23-second clips, one exercise each, already in four languages.

The video that made history

88 Mviews of the original video

On 2 April 2010 we published 8 Min Abs Workout: eight minutes, eight exercises, no equipment. It became the most watched workout video of its time and still is: the original version alone is past 88 million views, and with levels, editions and languages it passes 100 million.

Fifteen years later, thousands of people still do it every month. People write to us who did it at fifteen and still do.

From video to app

50 M+downloads across App Store and Google Play

In 2008 we were already selling workouts formatted for iPod and iPhone, before an App Store for fitness existed. In 2010 came the first app, with the muscle map and the 3D videos; in March 2011 Abs Workout, today Abify, and Android in June.

For years we stayed at the top of the fitness category in dozens of countries. The apps for every body part, the 7 Minute Workout and the 30-day programs followed.

Copied

When something works, the copies arrive. Not only in apps: on YouTube too. Since the 2020 pandemic, fitness influencers with millions of subscribers and millions of views have appeared; we were doing what they do back in 2010, with the same numbers, when there was almost nobody doing fitness on YouTube.

Same story with apps: today it seems normal to download one and train in your living room. In 2010 nobody did, and we were the ones who started that market. Our App Store listing already said it in 2012: "beware of imitations".

Thousands of apps and channels now do what we were doing in 2010.

21 languages

One channel per language, not one channel with subtitles: the coach's voice is recorded in every language and the apps are translated word by word.

Italy in 2009, Spanish and French the same year, seven channels in 2011, eight in a single day in November 2014. Today the 21 channels together count over 5.8 million subscribers and more than 1.26 billion views.

Two generations

Some trained with us at fifteen and are thirty today. Every year messages arrive from people who grew up with the 8 minutes.

We didn't invent fitness: we made it normal to do it in your own room. Beginners, athletes, coaches, and even US Army and French Foreign Legion soldiers have written to us.

In the press

Over the years a lot of people have written about us: the Italian press first, because P4P was born in Italy, and then outlets from half the world. Newspapers, TV, technology and fitness sites.

One example: in February 2014 CNN ran a feature on apps that help you lose weight, and inside it is our 8 Min Abs "The Classic", captioned "Courtesy Passion4Profession". Press play and watch the part about us.

CNN, February 2014: "Can you really lose weight with an app?" ↗

Today

In 2020 the world discovered training at home; we had been doing it for twelve years and didn't change the method.

Today one subscription opens seven apps, and this site puts the full exercise library in everyone's hands, free, in 22 languages. The same principle as in 2008: show properly how an exercise is done, and let people train wherever they want.
