Description

The reverse lunge targets the quads. Other muscles worked are the calves, hamstrings and glutes. This compound exercise is great for building speed and lower body strength.

How to do it

  1. 1Begin in a standing position. Keep your hands on your hips. Maintain a neutral spine.
  2. 2Take a large step backward with your right foot. Use slow, controlled movements.
  3. 3As you lower your body, bend the right knee at 90 degrees. Keep the knee in line with your foot. Slowly return to the starting position and repeat. Alternate sides.

⚠️ Common mistakes

  • Allow your knee to go forward beyond your toes
  • Curb your back
