How to train your shoulders
Shoulders train with raises and presses: lateral, front, at ninety degrees and overhead, with dumbbells, bands or bodyweight. The deltoid has three heads, front, side and rear, and each one wants its own angle: one raise never covers the whole shoulder.
Here you'll find the exercises on video with form, common mistakes and the muscles involved. Light loads, soft elbows, no swinging with the torso. Nowhere is the difference between lifting a weight and training a muscle clearer: if your body starts to sway, your shoulder isn't doing the exercise any more, it's just going along with it.

- What weight should I use for lateral raises?
- Light. If you need to swing your torso, it's too heavy.
- I feel my neck instead of my shoulders. Why?
- You're shrugging your shoulders towards your ears. Keep them down through the whole movement.
- How many times a week?
- Twice. Shoulders already work in your chest and back exercises.
