This push-up variation works your core muscles. It hits your abs, obliques, and lower back while improving your overall balance. Compared to standard push-ups, it offers a different range of motion and targets the abdominal region, not the chest or triceps.
How to do it
- 1Lie on your right side with your legs extended.
- 2Bend your right arm and use the elbow to support your body weight.
- 3Place your left arm in front of your chest with the hand on the floor. Keep your arm close to your torso.
- 4Slowly push your torso and hips up by using your left hand to initiate the movement. Hold the contraction and repeat. Do it on both sides.
⚠️ Common mistakes
- Lift your hips too high
- Use your arms, not your abs, to raise your torso and hips
Now you know how it is done. In the app it joins the other exercises and becomes a multi-week plan.
