This exercise targets your core muscles, especially the “lower abs”. The primary muscle responsible for lifting up your legs is the iliopsoas. Other muscles worked are the hip flexors, rectus abdominus, and quadriceps. This move can be performed anywhere and requires no equipment. It's a simple, effective way to sculpt your abs and lose belly fat.
How to do it
- 1Lie on your back with arms at your sides and legs raised. Knees have to be slightly bent.
- 2Place your left foot over the right foot for stability and keep your back straight.
- 3Squeeze your abs while slowly raising your hips and push legs up.
- 4Return to the starting position and repeat.
⚠️ Common mistakes
- Using your arms to push hips up
- Arching the back
