This isolation move engages the triceps brachii and stabilizer muscles, such as the posterior deltoid, middle and lower traps, latissimus dorsi, and rhomboids. When done properly, it increases muscle strength and tone, shapes your arms, and targets the lateral head of the triceps. Always use proper form to prevent shoulder injuries.
How to do it
- 1Stand up straight, with your feet shoulder-width apart. Slowly lean forward until your torso is parallel to the floor. Keep your knees slightly bent and your abs contracted. Your head should be aligned with your spine.
- 2Grasp a dumbbell with your right hand using a neutral grip.
- 3Lift the weight moving only at the elbow. Continue until your arm is fully extended. Hold for a few seconds.
- 4Lower the dumbbell to the starting position.
⚠️ Common mistakes
- Move your body
- Keep your elbow too low
